The countryside of Bolgheri, Tuscany

Our Story · est. 2006

Two friends, one table.

Pietro Brembilla and Brian Persico, best friends since they were seven, raised in Bolgheri. This is the story of how their table crossed the ocean.

Pietro and Brian as kids in Bolgheri

Bolgheri, Tuscany

It starts at age seven.

Before the company, there was a friendship. Pietro and Brian grew up together in Bolgheri, on the Tuscan coast, where the table is not a piece of furniture: it is where everything happens. The olive oil, the bread, the wine, the argument, the reconciliation.

They carried that table with them everywhere. Eventually, they carried it across an ocean.

New York, 2006

A studio apartment and a label at a time.

In 2006 they landed in New York City with little more than a studio apartment and an idea: bring the real Tuscan pantry to the kitchens of America, one restaurant at a time, with no minimum order. They labeled the first bottles of olive oil one by one, by hand, with the logos of the restaurants they were meant for.

Pietro’s father believed in the two of them, and invested. The kitchens kept calling back.

The same story, from the back

We select, we import, we deliver.

We do not pretend to farm it all. Our craft is choosing: producers we can name, a single seal on every label, a direct supply chain from six Italian ports to six American hubs, and our own fleet for the last mile. The honest version of the story is the one we are proudest of.

The Sogno Toscano team

Today

From two friends to a full table.

Today Sogno Toscano is a team on two continents: headquarters in Tempe, Arizona and in Bolgheri, Tuscany, six direct distribution hubs, a partner network across the country, and five cafes of our own where the catalog is served, not just shipped.

The label still means what it meant in that studio apartment: somebody chose this for you, by name.

A new generation of an old tradition

Five cafes, coast to coast, serving what we import. Or bring the pantry home from the shop.
